When Mom Sees Her Daughter Put THIS In Santa’s Hand, She Knows She Has To Take A Photo
Josie a 5-year-old was extremely excited to go to Walmart and buy a toy, her mother Rebeca Hardin noticed the exceeding excitement in her daughter this particular Christmas. So they went to Walmart and Rebeca gave her daughter 5$ and let her buy a baby Jesus, the little girl was over joyed and euphoric.
“Baby Jesus was small, it fit in her little hand and looked to be very fragile. But it’s her money and she was so excited to get the first piece for her collection. Josie was very careful with it and carried it with her everywhere,” Rebeca wrote on Facebook.
The next day when Josie’s mother picked her up from school, she was filled with excitement as she approached baby Jesus that she previously left in the booster. She immediately inquired about Santa and insisted that they go see Santa as quickly as possible. Rebeca knew that they were will be a Santa at the mall so she immediately drove to the mall to make her 5-year-old meet Santa. As she ran towards Santa the mother was worried but she was awestruck by the time she realized what her daughter had done. While every other kid was busy making a list of things they want from Santa, this little girl had a gift for Santa, a baby Jesus she had loved and adored for a couple of days.
“Josie gave Santa a gift today… Today, Josie’s school let out at noon and they did not have after school care. So I picked Josie up at noon. She had left her Baby Jesus in her booster seat and immediately picked it up and held it close to her. She asked where Santa was and said she needed to see him, ‘right away.’ I told her that Santa was at our local mall right now and she insisted we go. It seemed very important to her so I took her. “
“The other children were jumping around and talking excitedly about what Santa was bringing to them. Their parents were talking over them, yelling at them, or completely ignoring the kids. And here was Josie, in her Santa pajamas, quietly standing in front of me and cradling her little Baby Jesus. Josie whispered to me that she needed to give her Baby Jesus to Santa. I asked her why and she said, ‘To remind him why he gives us presents at Christmas and to tell him thank you.’ My heart melted…”
“As we got closer, I got a good look at Santa. He looked tired and was gesturing at his back like it was hurting. He was very kind to the kids and would sit there for a good 15 minutes while a kid would go on and on about what she wanted to get. The photographer told him that his next child was special and he wouldn’t want to go take a break yet.
Josie walked up to him and showed him the Baby Jesus. I couldn’t hear everything but I did manage to hear Josie tell Santa that she didn’t come to ask for anything, she just wanted to tell him thank you. She told him that it was nice to give the kids presents for Jesus’ birthday and that the Baby Jesus was for him to keep and remember why he did it. The man started to cry. I wasn’t sure at first, but his face started to get red and his eyes started to look like they had tears. And then it happened…”
“Josie began to sing to Santa. She sang, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” “Josie began to sing to Santa. She sang, “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” and Santa patted her back in unison with the beat and he smiled and listened intently. Then Santa sang to Josie! He sang, “Silent Night,” and had such a beautiful voice! Josie hugged Santa then walked to me. I was crying and the photographer kept saying, ‘That is the most awesome thing I’ve ever seen.’ The other kids and parents just looked at me, they couldn’t hear what was going on and couldn’t really see what was happening. They saw a girl on Santa’s lap, talking with Santa. And they saw her crazy mom next to the photographer, crying.
And that’s OK. It was a private moment that I am sure blessed that man as much as it blessed me. He was tired and sore. We have no idea if he was Santa because he needed money or if he just loved making kids happy. We don’t know if he has family or if he’s alone. And we don’t have to, because I do know that he got a blessing today.
Josie gave Santa a gift today.”
